OFA no part of door-to-door energy sales
Dear OFA members,
The OFA has been receiving some
complaints regarding electricity/
natural gas resellers claiming that the
OFA has endorsed their program. At
least two of the door-to-door sales
agents from an Ontario reseller have
recently been making this claim and
despite being told by this company
twice that they would address the
situation, it continues today.
The agent(s) claim that the OFA
sent them some material in the spring
endorsing their program. This is an
attempt to confuse our members since
we did advertise the program of our
partner organization, Ag Energy Co-
operative, at that time. We believe
that the door-to-door sales people
think to use the OFA's name because
they see the member gate sign at the
end of the laneway.
We have spoken to the Ontario
Energy Board and upon their
suggestion, we will be writing a letter
to this company again requesting
