much of the antique equipment is
now staying in Canada, Virtue says.
Though Americans are still taking
some out of the country, the trend has
slowed in recent years.
One of the ways the Association
has financed its tremendous growth
over the years is through raffling off
a restored tractor each year. Members
of the association restore a tractor
that represents the feature tractor,
during the winter months. The annual
draw takes place in October at the
association's awards banquet. This
year's tractor is a 1953 Case model
VAC.
Second prize is a Kiddie's farm
pedal tractor and third, a collectible
replica farm tractor. Tickets are sold
at $5.00 each, or three tickets for
$10.00.
Virtue says it's been very
satisfying to see the show's growth.
"Our name has got to be fairly well
recognized," he says. "People are
coming from far and wide. There's
value for peoples money — it's a
family event."0
