Of course my wife and I remember the loads of fun (without the new toys) splitting and putting five bush cords of firewood into the basement for the eventual cold weather coming our way. Fairly good lamb prices have kept some bills paid sooner than last year. Luckily I didn't grow soybeans which have turned out to be a painful exercise for many farmers in our area. Without a functioning crystal ball many farmers will have some difficult planting decisions for next spring. This past week has been spent completing my EFP (Environmental Farm Plan) course, phase II. Another well -presented course, with definite positive financial incentives to help you upgrade or change part of your farming program. Sign up now if you have not already. Two short days give you loads of information. sources for help on other farm -related items and good fellowship and learning by the experience of other farmers. I cannot over -recommend this EFP course enough. Well worth your time! In closing I would like to thank Dorein and Paul de Jong (Paul is the outgoing President for Grey County Federation of Agriculture) for an energetic year of hard work and giving to the farming community. They are an example for us all to follow. With young farming couples like them I know the Grey County farming community is in great hands to continue to succeed for future years. — Submitted by John Hurst 2nd Vice President Grey County Federation of Agriculture has new executive The following are the election results from the Annual meeting of the Grey County Federation of Agriculture and OFA Regional Meeting held October 14, 2005.
