It was up to Grand Valley Fortifiers to get the milk produced to supply the needs of Stoney Creek Dairy, Clemons explained. There's some secrecy about just who those producers are and even Clemons doesn't know their names. The 10 producers with 400 cows are all located near the Gay Lea Foods Co-operative Ltd. plant at Teeswater. The milk is collected at the Teeswater plant and the cream is skimmed off. It's then sold to Stoney Creek Dairy as 40 per cent Omega-3 cream. Stoney Creek Dairy launched its Naturelle Plus Ice Cream at the high- end Fortinos grocery chain in early April. The dairy is packaging the Omega-3 ice cream in 1.68 Titre tubs that retail at about $7 per package, comparable to other premium ice creams. It comes in five different flavours: Dutch Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Cream Caramel, Just Vanilla and Chocolate Peanut Butter Ripple. It advertises that 125 mL serving (half a cup) contains 30 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids. It wasn't long after George Dawson began the original Stoney Creek Dairy in 1929 from a small garage at the back of his home, collecting milk from nearby farms and bottling it for sale to his neighbours, that the little company bought equipment to make ice cream and began collecting recipes. Within 12 years its Dairy Bar had become a local legend and
