"Campers were asking about sites
at the 2002 IPM in Middlesex
County and we began selling them
last year in Lanark," says Brian.
Situated adjacent to the Tented
City, the RV park has become a very
popular aspect of the show, allowing
visitors to truly experience the
plowing match over the five days,
more easily participating in both the
daytime and evening events. A stay
at the trailer park also offers campers
the opportunity to visit old friends,
reconnecting yearly at such shows, as
well as enjoy the nightly jam sessions
staged by park residents until 11:00
p.m.
Entertainment will also be
provided each evening for two hours,
in the Lounge Tent that will be
situated between Tented City and the
RV park.
The Lounge Tent, a 240' by 80'
enclosure, will be busy throughout
the match, says Pearl, easily hosting
3,000 people for the various shows
and events.

says things are getting very exciting.
"Several parts are unique to our
match," says Brian. "That makes it
flavourful and unique to each (host)
county."
The volunteer numbers are
expected to double for the actual
match and more hands can always be
of assistance, says Pearl.
The Bumsteads also stress the
importance of sponsors for the expo.
They have supported the match both
financially and in-kind. Local
service clubs and organizations have
been equally supportive of the
endeavour.
Throughout the experience, the
Bumsteads say they have met great
people and built friendships — one
of the biggest pluses of being
involved in such an undertaking.
But what is in the plans for after
the match?
"We are going on vacation when
this is over," laughs Pearl. "We are
