witness an automated dairy barn in
operation, first-hand."
New demonstrations and
commercial exhibits will be the focus
of the Sheep and Goat Expo.
Alberta -based Kaniwi Korrals will
be featuring a new automated
handling system called the Racewell
Unit, which has been dubbed the
world's leading sheep handling
system and is very producer -friendly.
The demo will show how sheep
and goat producers can use the
innovative technology for handling
during vaccinations, de -worming,
weighing and sorting and more. The
system can also interface with
electronic ID and data can be
downloaded directly to the computer.
Khaniwi will also demonstrate a
sheep and goat all-purpose
andling system. Using
sheep, they will show how the
system can be used for hoof
trimming.
Also new in the Expo will be a
Goat Synchronizing Forum presented
by GenerVations Inc., a global semen
marketing company. Plans are in the
works to feature a video presentation
and discussion period to show dairy
goat producers how various AI
protocols work and the importance of
timing.
A variety of commercial exhibits
will be housed in the Trillium Farm
Building Structure covering topics
from feed to genetics to breed
associations.
"The Sheep and Goat Pavilion is a
popular destination each year at the
Show and we're happy to be
showcasing this important livestock
sector," says Underhill.
The Equine Expo had a successful
debut last year and will return in
2004.
"We had excellent feedback from
the 2003 Show and we're pleased to
continue presenting an Equine
Expo," says Underhill. "Horses have
a valuable role on the farm and riding
is popular for farm families, so it was
important to include this Expo in our
livestock lineup."
Ongoing daily will be a live
demonstration of the Odyssey
Performance Trainer — an
automated horse exerciser.
