Retired director honoured at Huron Board meeting

seven years of dedicated service to
the Huron Federation of Agriculture.
Evert was an OFA Director for
most of those years. an Executive
Director on the HCFA Executive for
all that time. as well as serving on
numerous committees and groups
involving nutrient management,
water quality issues. tree by-laws and
numerous other issues that arose
during his tern.
Margie. Everts' wife accompanied
Evert and was presented with a plant
as a token of her support to him over
the \ears. Thank you Evert for your

A possible committee will be set
up concerning donating cull cows to
local food banks.
HCFA Director Bill Wallace
representing the Dairy Producers,
will be discussing this with the Milk
Committee and getting back to us.
We will possibly be looking for
volunteers from commodity groups
and/or others to help organize such a
committee. Watch this page for

Huron Perth Connects
expands service
Huron -Perth Connects is a joint
Huron -Perth project to bring expanded
Internet service to Huron and Perth
counties. OMAF reported that according
to the last census, of the 2880 census
farms in Huron, 1,178 had computers,
792 with Internet access.0

membership fee of $150 comes back
directly to the County Federation?
• that the Huron County Federation
Board of Directors is made up of an
executive of seven, three Regional
Directors (who attend OFA monthly
board meetings and report back to the
county), four directors at large, 10 reps
from county commodity boards. As well,
each township in the county (16) are
allowed one director on the board. At
present Huron Federation has 10
townships represented. The board meets
the fourth Monday of each month, except
May and December. Any OFA member
is welcome to attend the board meetings
at Vanastra office at 8:00 p.m.0
