on Highway 6. Tour of the organic
test plots of field crops. Come see
different varieties of spelt, oats and
barley grown under organic
management. After a morning tour of
these there will be a general tour of
the College Farm and CSA
(Community Shared Agriculture

19 — Ecological Farmers
Association's summer farm tour,
Simcoe County near Barrie. There is
a three -in -one afternoon on three area
farms. The first is an Introduction to
Draft horses that is the focus at the
farm of Thorsten Beuck and Sherri
Brockback at 1969 Old Barrie Road.

Following that at 2:30 p.m., a bit
north of Waverley at 1337 Ron Jones
Rd., Adrienne and Greg Lutick have
a very diversified operation growing
and preserving blueberries and
lingonberries. They also grow
shiitake mushrooms and native
flowers. Call 705-526-3042 for
directions or get them at the first stop.
The afternoon winds up at the nearby
farm of Chris and Michelle Litster,
1271 Rummey Rd., which features
pastured beef, silvaculture and other
projects under a Severn Sound
Remedial Action Plan. There will
be a potluck picnic and cash barbecue
at 5:00 p.m. following the farm
tour. The Simcoe and Area chapter
of EFAO will be having a short
business meeting there as part of the
evening.

tion's summer farm tour in southern
Ontario, south of St. Thomas at
Orchard Hill Farm. This farm is
owned and operated by Ken and
Martha Laing, who have a draft
horse -powered farm. In addition to
two acres of Scotch pine and fir
Christmas trees, they grow spelt, oats,
and hay. Specialized horse-drawn
equipment for cash crops and market
garden will be demonstrated. Located
at 45415 Fruit Ridge Line just north
