CLARICA
TOP DRY
HOW DOES THE
G. S. I. SYSTEM WORK?
1) Grain is loaded into the upper chamber
of the bin, and dried as a batch
2) When the grain is dry, the burner
automatically shuts off
3) The operator lowers the dump chutes
with a winch, and the grain falls to the
lower part of the bin for cooling/storage
4) The dump chutes are cranked dosed
and another batch is loading into the
drying chamber
WHY IS A TOP DRY A BETTER INVESTMENT
THAN A STIRRING MACHINE?
1) LOWER OPERATING COSTS
• Uses much less fuel because it recycles cooling air through
the drying zone
• No gear boxes, motors, or bearings inside the bin
• 100% galvanized construction inside and outside
2) FASTER DRYING
' 2 to 3 times faster per horsepower than a stirring machine
because of lower grain depth (30")

Agricultural
Policy
Framework
(APF)
Premier Ernie Eves and I are
committed to working closely
with you to ensure that the new
business risk management
programs under the federal -
provincial APF are more
effective than the existing
safety net package.
To that end, we sought a one-
year extension of the existing
programs. This would have
given time to examine how the
new APF programs would affect
these existing programs, and
whether redesign of them was
necessary in order to meet the
needs of Ontario farmers.
Unfortunately, the federal
government refused to delay
implementation, and agreed
only to a narrow review of the
new program's effects that has
proven inadequate to relieve
the anxieties of Ontario's farm
families.
After consultation with Ontario's
farm leaders, I authorized the
Ministry of Agriculture and Food
to contract with the George
Morris Centre to conduct our
own Ontario -specific review that
will add an Ontario perspective
to what is an incomplete federal
study. The report will be ready
for presentation both to the
farm leaders and myself on
June 27, 2003.
