Profile -
Pat Down has long experience in local issues
My husband, Bob of 42 years and I mix farm in the former township of Usborne,
just outside of Exeter, in Huron County. We have hogs, beef and cash crop. We
have four married daughters with 11, and counting, grandchildren.
I spent 12 years in municipal government with six years as Reeve. I am currently
First Vice -President of the Exeter United Church Women and South Huron Hospital.
As well, I am a board member of Huron County Federation of Agriculture and the
Huron County Library Board. I am finishing Charles Regele's term as director for
Huron East on the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
I would like to see OFA do some serious work on revising board structure in order
that the board function more effectively. I am also interested in environmental
issues, currently sitting on the Low Water Response Committee for the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation Authority. I am also a member of the Huron County Farm
Environmental Coalition for Huron Federation.
We like to travel, watch sporting events and go to movies. My hobbies include
reading, skiing, (cross country) and gardening as well as watching my
grandchildren do whatever they are involved in. 0
