The Rural Voice is provided to farmers in Perth County by the PCFA. The 4.30 price for electricity - what do you need to do? Most farmers with Hydro One are already getting the 4.3 cent price for power and have received their rebates (or credits) back to their first open market bill (May 2002). Hydro One took the initiative and has already extended the 4.3 cent rate to virtually all its farm class customers. Some very large farm class accounts and Targe farm accounts that are classed as commercial have yet to be covered. Follow the instructions below and they will be. If you are a Hydro One customer and a large power user (over 150,000 kwh per year) you have likely received a letter from Hydro One asking you to declare if you are a "designated customer". The designated customer form does not mention farm customers. Nonetheless, if you are a farmer, complete the form and provide all the requested information about you and your account numbers. State that you are a farmer and that the accounts you have listed provide power for farm or residential use. You must also provide your farm business registration number, which is the Perth County Federation of Agriculture meets with members of Parliament From left, Bert Johnson, MPP, Perth Middlesex; Tim Shute, President, PCFA; and Murray Calder, MP, Dufferin, Peel, Wellington and Grey. Then return the form to the address provided in Markham or fax it to the number provided with the form. Please do this promptly. If you discarded the designated customer letter without returning it, call the customer service number on your hydro bill and ask to be sent one so you may apply for the 4.3 cent capped rate. If you are a PUC customer (now called Local Distribution Company) you have likely received a similar letter. Few PUC's have a separate class for farm customers, so they have more difficulty identifying farm customers. If you are a PUC customer using more than 150,000 kwh per year fill out the PUC's designated customer letter and return it. Provide all the needed information, state that you are a farmer and provide your Farm Business Registration number. If you have yet to get such a letter, call your PUC's customer service number and ask to have a copy sent to you.0 PERTH COUNTY FEDERATION OF AGRICULTURE DIRECTORS' MEETING NO MAY MEETING Next meeting June 26, 2003 Tradition Mutual Insurance Office Sebringville - 8:00 p.m. EVERYONE WELCOME ALL CANDIDATES MEETING FEDERAL BY-ELECTION PERTH -MIDDLESEX RIDING Monday, April 28, 2003 8:00 p.m. Listowel Golf & Country Club, Listowel Wednesday, April 30, 2003 8:00 p.m. St. Marys Community Centre, St. Marys All candidates have been invited to attend Meetings sponsored by Perth County Federation of Agriculture, Middlesex Federation of Agriculture and North Perth Chamber of Commerce
