Pork Congress plans big for 30th anniversary
The 2003 Ontario Pork Congress
will celebrate 30 Years of Progress,
with special events and activities to
mark three decades of excellence,
June 19-20 at the Stratford
Fairgrounds.
Since its humble beginnings in
1974, the Congress has fulfilled its
mandate to producers and industry
stakeholders, enhancing and
enriching its program of events, to
reflect the success and visionary
quality of the province's hog sector.
This year, as it has in the past,
the Pork Congress will build on its
strengths of exchanging ideas,
offering insights and information
on the latest trends and a chance to
relax with friends and associates.
The 2003 edition will feature
something new for consumers and
producers alike, as Zehr's Markets
presents daily cooking
demonstrations with "Chef Linda".
It's just one more opportunity to
show the industry — and
consumers — the very best of
Ontario pork production.
In addition to special features
and a festive 30th anniversary
atmosphere, the Congress will
provide those favourites which
have transformed this two-day
showcase into a week-long
celebration, starting with the Black
Tie Dinner, Saturday, June 14, at
the Church Restaurant. The Gold
Event, offering the latest in
management trends and technology,
precedes the official two days of
the Congress, Wednesday, June 18.
Of course, the 2003 Pork
Congress will provide its perennial
favourites, including the Inno-
vations Display and the Pig Art
Competition, with events geared
more to management skills, like the
Carcass Demonstration returning
for another year.
Each year, the Ontario Pork
Congress celebrates the level of
excellence afforded by the pork
