Harvest the Wind is geared towards those who are interested in taking power into their own hands and creating a secure, clean energy future in Ontario. The workshop is focused on providing farmers and rural communities with the tools and information that they need to take advantage of opportunities in Ontario's new energy market and get involved in renewable energy. The workshop will introduce participants to topics including: • The economics of wind power • Designing your own off -grid or grid -connected power system • Developing your own resource • Wind power co-operatives and • What to do if approached by a wind developer "Individuals and communities across Ontario are recognizing the opportunities that now exist to participate in the development and generation of green power," says Deborah Doncaster, Executive Director of OSEA. "Over the past two years OSEA has been holding sustainable energy workshops in local communities across the province and has helped to catalyze a number of projects. Through Harvest the wind we hope to help farmers reap a second harvest of clean power from their fields."
