Ron Douglas meets the Queen
Clifford -area pork producer Ron
Douglas has spent a lot of time over
the years helping Canadians know
more about animal agriculture in
general and the pork industry in
particular but he had a special reward
October 9 when Queen Elizabeth
visited the Ontario Pork exhibit at the
Festival of Ontario reception in
Toronto.
Douglas'and his wife Sharon
have been involved for more than a
decade in displays at both the
Canadian National Exhibition and
the Royal Winter Fair that help non -
farmers learn more
about farm animals so it
was only natural that he
was on hand with an
exhibit of a sow and
piglets as part of the
Ontario Pork display at
the special exhibition
for the Queen. Also on
hand when she visits the display was
Ontario Pork Chair Clare Schlegel.0
