Through his company, Calico Beef Consulting in Alberta. he teaches courses and conducts seminars across the continent. Twice a day at the Show, O'Byrne will discuss procedures for transporting, loading and unloading animals in a humane manner that is safe for the animals and the handler. Four different modes of transportation will be on-site for his presentation — a gooseneck trailer, a straight truck, a pot truck and a modified pick-up truck. O'Byrne will discuss the state-of-the-art features of these trucks that make animal transport easier, safer and less stressful for the animal. For example, temperature monitors, ventilation systems, feed storage, portable ramps, livestock safety cushions and more will be discussed. The trucks will be provided by Luckhart TransportLtd. and Ulch Trailer Sales. Those who want to take a break from the exhibits can enjoy a creative, delicious, laugh - provoking and informative family program. The Zine -up of speakers headlining the program will offer insight and knowledge on making garden planters, cooking on the grill, forming "Energy from Biowaste" rural co-ops and details on one man's hilarious journey from Bay Street to the farm.
