Now, producers really need to see how pollination progresses. It would appear that damage has been done to both the corn and soybean crops, so producers should play it safe when determining how much grain to sell. It is very difficult to tell whether or not this weather market will carry on much higher, but my gut instinct tells me that prices will still work higher although there will be periods of profit taking. Speculators are long all grains and they will hold their positions until a substantial rain system moves through. This means that producers must be diligent in keeping a close eye on markets and be well prepared to make quick decisions. For once, grain prices are moving in the right direction for the producer and let us hope there is a decent crop to take advantage of the opportunity.° THE RURAL VOICE MAGAZINE Don't Delay - Subscribe Today The Rural Voice Produced by people with farming in their blood.
