Ray and Barb Storey of McKillop Twp., have made a career out of diversified farming, involved in everything from raising hogs and chinchillas to producing maple syrup. 34 THE RURAL VOICE John Storey began his beekeeping career in Grade 9 when he took lessons from Ernst Bayer of Mitchell. Today he has 50 hives which his father Ray helps him maintain (above taking a frame from a hive). Spring means more work in the bee yards (below left) where bees wi!I begin filling hives with honey. Eventually the honey will be harvested with an extractor (below right).
