Bridges to Agriculture is a partnership between the Avon Maitland District School Board, the Huron -Perth
Catholic District School Board and various community members and agricultural organizations within Huron
and Perth Counties. The project focus is to bring together senior secondary school students who are interested
in pursuing agricultural careers with our Agri -business community. Major funding for this project is provided
by the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training. During 1999-2000, students from nine different secondary
schools attended classes at South Huron District High School and Mitchell District High School. We have now
completed Year 1 of Bridges to Agriculture and wish to thank all of the partners who have helped to ensure
the success of our program.
