Resolutions passed at annual meeting
Five resolutions were passed at the
annual meeting of the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture meeting in
Seaforth on October 11, 2001. These
resolutions will be forwarded to the
OFA Annual Convention in
November.
Following are the "Therefore Be It
Resolved" sections of the resolutions:
1. OFIDP (Ontario Farm Income
Disaster Program)/MRI (Market
Revenue Income) Accrual
Adjustment
Therefore Be It Resolved, that if
an enhanced 2001 MRI Program is
NOT signed then OFA should
investigate the possibility of having
the 2000 crop year MRI payments
adjusted to the accrual basis so that
the 2001 OFIDP can be enhanced to
more accurately reflect producers
actual 2001 deficit.
2. OFIDP - MRI Linkage:
Therefore Be It Resolved, that the
OFA lobby for the removal of the
MRI linkage from the OFIDP.
3. NISA Triggered Withdrawals:
Therefore Be It Resolved, that in
order to encourage withdrawal of
triggered NISA funds, the OFA lobby
to make triggered NISA fund 2
money taxable even if it is not

CONSULTATION MEETINGS
The OFA Environment Committee is looking
for farmer input into the new Nutrient
Management Act regulations November 29,
