PCFA annual meeting and OFA regional meeting held The Annual Meeting of the Perth County Federation of Agriculture and the OFA Regional Meeting for Perth South, Perth North and Perth Central were held on Wednesday. October 10 at the Milverton Recreation Complex. Our guest speaker for the evening was Phil Anwender, Class 8 Participant of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. The following were elected to attend the OFA Annual Convention in November. Conservation Funding Sources Seminar Thursday, December 6 — 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mitchell Town Hall This evening seminar is being planned to inform rural landowners on sources of funding available for conservation measures. Many programs exist and others are about to commence which offer financial and technical support to farmers to implement Best Management Practices. Ducks Unlimited Canada, through its Soil and Water Improvement Planned Enhancement Program (SWIPE) has initiated a series of seminars across the province to inform rural landowners of local conservation programs. The Perth County Federation of Agriculture is co-operating to bring this seminar to the Perth Region. Other conservation agencies such as the local Conservation Authorities and the Perth Stewardship Council have been invited to present available conservation programs as well.
