Changes proposed to PCFA Constitution The Constitution states the procedure to make amendments to the constitution in Article 12 - Amendntents: "This constitution may be amended at any members General Meeting by a two- thirds vote of members present provided that the notice of meeting sent to members has stated the intention to propose a Constitutional amendment, the exact wording of the existing relevant part and of the proposed amendment, and the procedure for voting on the proposal... The following changes will be voted on at our annual meeting on Wednesday, October 10, 2001 by a show of hands. Original wording: Article 10 - Expulsion and suspension 1.The expulsion of an officer may be pronounced for sufficient cause after contradictory investigation, by the three-fourths vote of the directors The Clean Water Project provides assistance The Clean Water Project (CWP) through a partnership with Healthy Futures of Ontario Agriculture is a rural water quality initiative that provides technical and financial assistance to improve and protect water quality on your farm in Middlesex, Oxford and Perth. The City of London, City of Stratford. Town of St. Marys and the municipalities of Middlesex, Oxford and Perth have contributed funding. Local municipalities together with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs are offering cost-sharing grants to qualified landowners for best management practices that improve ground and surface water quality. Financial assistance ranges from 50 per cent to 100 per cent, depending on the project. Eligible projects include: • Milkhouse washwater disposal • Manure spreading equipment modification • Clean water diversion • Livestock access restriction to watercourses • Nutrient management plans • Wellhead protection • Decommissioning unused wells • Fertilizer, chemical and fuel storage or handling • Septic systems • Cropland plans • Erosion control structures. • Fragile land retirement 50 THE RURAL VOICE Farmers with a completed Environmental Farm Plan may apply for funding. Nine local Conservation Authorities, County Federation of Agriculture reps, the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario and local municipality reps have been involved in developing this project.
