Fibre Expo also expects to have
companies utilizing crop residues
such as wheat straw in applications
such as building materials.
Indiana Bio -Composites, an
American company which makes
natural Libre composites from fibres
grown in Canada and the U.S, will
also be on-site at this year's Show.
The company produces automotive
parts, such as door panels and trunk
liners, from natural fibres. They're
also planning to launch office
furniture and wall finishing systems
in the next two years.
"Ag fibre production has real
benefits for the agricultural industry,
and it's a sustainable market for
farmers," says Harry Hickey from
Indiana Bio -Composites. "We're
attending the Show in support of our
Canadian suppliers, to show farmers
and government that this is a growth
industry with realistic, economic
opportunities."

where quality seed comes from.
Show Co-ordinator, Doug Wagner
says the science and production of
hybrid seed corn will be featured in
the field crop demonstration area.
"We want to give growers an up -
close look at the details involved in
seed corn production."
Wagner notes that most of
Ontario's seed corn is produced in
the southwest corner of the province,
and commercial corn growers across
the province have little direct contact
with seed production. "From the lab
to the field there's a lot of research
and technology in a bag of seed
corn," he says.
Hyland Seeds has donated the
seed corn and a small plot showing
the male and female lines has been
planted. Farmers will have the
