If a coyote is killing your sheep or calves, you
can hunt it. If a beaver is flooding your crops,
you can have someone trap it. But if a deer is
eating your crop, which happens to be apple
trees, you won't get much but sympathy — and
even that may be scarce in a society that loves
these graceful
creatures.
Beautiful as they
are, though, their
appeal fades
when there are
dozens of them
munching on your
apple trees as
Meaford area
orchardist Brian
Comly found out.
