Green Home Visit proposed for rural municipalities
Perth County Greenworks, a
county -wide environmental
organization, is proposing a Green
Home Visit for all residents of Perth
County. The Green Home Visit is a
comprehensive home assessment
service by trained assessors providing
customized consultation, information
and recommendations to help
increase home comfort and
efficiency. The Green Home Visit
encouraged homeowners .to make
their homes as energy-efficient and
environmentally friendly as possible.
"The Green Home visit benefits
everyone involved", says Project
Manager, Susanna Reid.
"Homeowners learn how to save on
utility bills, the project will generate
economic activity for the area, and it
will result in a healthier
environment."

gaps in the average house you'll get
a hole bigger than two square feet?

worth more at re -sale than
inefficient ones?
• Home heating accounts for more
than 2/3 of all residential energy
use?
• A tap dripping once per second
for a month wastes enough water to
fill 16 baths?
• A poorly tuned car with under-
inflated tires increase fuel
consumption by 14 to 18 per cent?
• The average householder sends
7 kg. of garbage to the dump each
week?
• Homes generate nearly 20 per
cent of Canada's greenhouse gas
emissions?

Passing on the Farm — Are You Ready?
Planning Today Will Reduce Your Stress Tomorrow!
More than 120,000 Canadian farmers will turn 65 in the next decade,
and some $50 billion in farm assets will change hands (more than $9
million each day), says the Canadian Farm Business Management
Council. Yet, statistics indicate that only 2 to 4 per cent of farmers have
a written farm Succession Plan. A recent survey of farm families, their
advisors and farm organizations indicates that farm succession is
considered a critical issue and will continue to be for the next decade.
However, when push comes to shove; only about 18 per cent of the
farm families surveyed by CFBMC stated they actually had an up-to-
date legal will.
