Frosted Grapes
Frosted grapes and rosy ap-
ples make an attractive centre-
piece for a winter'•s dining
table. To frost the grapes,
home economists at Macdonald
institute, Guelph, suggest us-
ing a pastry brush dipped into
slightly beaten egg white.
Brush each grape in the cluster
and then hold them over a bowl
and sprinkle with granulated
sugar. A pleasing frosty effect
will be obtained.
wit AT WISE MEN 1)11)
Tradition says that the
Three Wise Men, after return-
ing to their kingdoms from
Bethlehem, gave up their high
positions, gave their property
to the poor, and went out to
preach the gospel of Christi-
anity.

Here's Health ..
One good way to get into the
spirit of a merry Christmas is
o to make lots of charming little
gifts to give to all those nice
people with whom you don't
really " exchange" gifts. Such
tokens of good will and good
wishes are especially welcome
when they 'come from the kit-
chen -- a loaf of nut bread

O of jam or jelly, a box of your
best cookies.
The brightest, reddest, most
Christmasy ingredient you can
use for such holiday gifts is the
o cranberry. For something quite
O different, try a beautiful, ruby
red cranberry jelly -- the kind
you can see through, that
quivers delicately when passed
along with a plate of hot bis-
cuits. This will cause a stir
because it's different from the
usual jellied cranberry sauce.
The •solid remainder of thepulp
makes a nice spicy Cranberry
and Apple Jam. These two
gifts can be made before
Christmas.
