Dies at Home
WHITECIIURCH--Mr. and
Mrs, Ben McClenaghan and Mr,
and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan on
Saturday attended the funeral
of Robert Arnold Woods, who
passed away suddenly at his
home on the 10th Con. of W.
Wawanosh. He was in his57th
year and was the younger son of
the late William Woods and
Isabella Barbour. t -Ie was a
life resident of W. Wawanosh.
He leaves to mourn one sis-
ter, Mrs. Dick Martin of Huron
Township, and one brother,
Elmer at home. He never mar-
ried.
Rev. Mr. Greene of St.
Helens United Church officiated
at the funeral on Saturday from
the McKenzie funeral home,
Lucknow, with temporary en-
tombment in S. Kinloss Chapel.
The pallbearers were, Lorne
Woods, Alex Purvis, Chas. Mc-
Donald, Chester Taylor, Earl
Durnin and John Durnin.
Crawford McNeil of Ridge -
town and George Tisdale of
London, and other relatives
from Southampton, Kincardine
and London attended the funer-
al.

Allan Barbour, who spent
the summer on the Great Lakes
on a grain boat, was able to
attend the funeral of the late
R, A, Woods, as the boat had
tied up at Toronto, Mr, Bar-
bour returned to Toronto to
spend two weeks on the boat.
Mr. and Mrs. Mac Cardiff
of Brussels and Mr. and Mrs.
Jas,Reid of Mitchell visited on
Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Wm.
Rantoul,
Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Mc-
Donald and her mother, Mrs.
Frank Coulter and Miss Patsy
Coulter, were in Toronto on
Sunday to meet Mrs. Chester
Coulter (formerly Dorothy Webb)
of S. Burnaby, B.C., who was
spending a few days this week
in Toronto attending a hair-
dressers convention.
Mrs. Jos. Tiffin has been
laid up with measles during the
past week, and now Joan is ill
with them. Mrs, Ira Wall also
has had a siege of measles and
at the present time their son,
Bill, and Phyllis Sleightholm
are ill with measles.
Mr. and Mrs, Alex McInnis
of Goderich spent the week-
end with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Naylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coultes
and Debra visited on Sunday
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Mervin Pipe of Brussels.
Mrs. Reuben Appleby of
Turnberry, who has been a
patient in Wingham Hospital
for the past three weeks, was
able to return home on Satur-
day.
Major George E. and Mrs.
Walker and his mother, Mrs.
E. Walker, who had been visi-
ting at Ottawa, motored from
there last Friday and will spend
this week with his parents here.
Their sons, Donald and Doug-
las will come this week -end
to spend Christmas here.
Miss Karen Groskorth, Tor-
onto, spent the week -end at
the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs, E. 1-I. Groskorth.
A change of weather on
Tuesday'morning brought war-
mer weather, and snow rolling
in great piles off roofs, and
did many hear the thunder?
Surely it will bring warmer
times, even with snow drifting
down, too.
Mr. F. McK. Paterson left
on Sunday to spend the winter
months at the home of his son,
Mr. Scott Paterson of Detroit.
Card Social
LAKELET—Due to the stormy
weather the card social had
quite a small attendance. Win-
ners were as follows: Euchre,
high, Ernie Dinsmore, Clifford;
low, Eugene Metzger, Lakelet;
solo, high, Gordon Wright,
Lakelet; low, Gordon McKee,
Lakelet.

the Queen's Hotel at Hanover.
Master Ronnie Ferguson, son
of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ferguson,
was one of the lucky winners of
the turkey draw at Clifford on
Saturday.
Mrs. Robert Allan is at pre-
sent a patient at the Bruce
County Hospital at Walkerton,
undergoing treatment.

planned for Saturday evening

proaching marriage, this Satur-
day, of Miss Norma Forster,
daughter of Mr. Wm, Forster
and the late Mrs. Forster, The
ladies of the Presbyterian
Church here will cater for the
wedding dinner.
The W. M. S. of the Presby-
terian Church postponed its
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Andrew Gaunt, from last Wed-
nesday till the weather would
be more co-operative.
This is a week of Christmas
concerts. Tuesday night in No.
9 Kinloss School, Wednesday
The concert from S.S. No. 10
Kinlass, with Mrs. Kenneth
Wheeler, teacher, and Friday,
the concert of the Sunday
School in the United Church.
Service in the United Church
will be held at 10 a.m. on
Sunday instead of in the after-
noon.
Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Mont-
gomery and Mr. and Mrs. Noble
Greenaway postponed the euchre
they were sponsoring, until this
week -end at S.S. No. 9, East
Wawanosh.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Coffin

Town of Wingham
At the request of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Wingha
the Ontario Water Resources Commission has investigated the possibility
installing a sewage works project in the said Town at an estimated cost
$255,957. it is proposed to raise this sum by borrowing $128,000 from Cent
Mortgage and Housing Corporation to be repaid over a period of thirty yea
and, the balance of $127,957 will be repaid to the Ontario Water Resourc
Commission within the same period. The proposed project would consist

IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAWANOSH EAST.
After allowing an estimated write-off of $32,000 on the loan from Central
Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the estimated annual cost of the project is
$25,152 which includes interest, debt retirement, operating cost and reserve for
renewals replacements and contingencies.
It is proposed to raise the sum of $17,400 by a surcharge of 94% of each
user's water bill and $7,752 by a general levy of 3 mills on all the rateable
property in the Town,
On the basis of these levies a house with an assessment of 52,500 and an
annual water bill of $15.00 would pay the following amounts annually after
connecti-on has been made to the project:
3 mills on assessment of $2,500 $ 7.50
94% of each user's water bill of $15.00 14.10
$ 21.60
Any owners or other persons affected by these charges may file- their objec-
tions thereto in writing with the undersigned within 21 days of the date of first
publication of this notice.
All plans, reports and estimates may be inspected at the office of the under
signed during business hours.
