The leader, Mrs. Ted Fear, opened with "Joy to the World" and the Lord's prayer in unison. Mrs. Ken Barbour read the sec- retary's report and Mrs. Man Dunbar read the treasurer's re- port, Mrs. Ross Anderson con- ducted the election of officers for 1963; Leader, Mrs, Stanley Hopper; secretary, Mrs. Ken Barbour; assistant secretary, Mrs. Ross .Anderson; treasurer, Mrs. Alan Dunbar; program convener, Mrs, William Coultes; Christ- ian citizenship, Mrs. Sara Pletch; community friendship, Mrs. Cliff Logan; literature, Mrs. George Johnston; press and publicity, Mrs, Ted Fear; so- cial functions, Mrs. Bob Grasby; supply, Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse; pianist, Mrs, George Johnston; group leaders, Mrs. Albert Bieman, Mrs. Sam Pletch, Mrs. Roy McSween and Mrs. Laura Johnston. Mrs. Stan Hopper opened the worship service with the call to worship and "Hark! The Glad Sound, the Saviour Comes" followed by prayer. A dialogue, "Watchman and Traveller" was given by Mrs. Stan Hopper and Mrs. Roy McSween; "As with Gladness Men of Old" was sung, and scripture was read by Mrs. Ken Barbour. A Christmas story was told by Mrs. Hopper with three members, Miss Annie Cook, Mrs. Ross Ander- son and Mrs, William Coultes taking part. "It Came upon a Midnight Clear" was sung and Mrs. Wil- liam Coultes read astory call- ed " The Wongs' Family Christ- mas." "Angels from the Realms of Glory" was sung and Mrs, Cliff Logan read the story "Three Wise Men from the East". The worship closed with singing "In Christ there Is no East or West" and prayer. Mrs. George Michie con- ducted the Bible study on the chapter, "God the Creator" from "The Word and the Way". Lunch was served. Mrs. Roy McSween will be hostess at the Afternoon Unit Officers Elected BELGRAVE--The regular meeting of the Afternoon Unit, United Church Women, was held Wednesday of last week with 18 members present. The leader, Mrs. Leslie Bolt, operr ed the meeting with a hymn for the Christmas season. Mrs, Jesse Wheeler read the secre-- tary's report and Mts. Ross Robinson gave the treasurer's report, A discussion was held as to the desirability of instal- ling a loud speaker in the church. The majority of the members voted in favor of this project. Mrs. Stanley Cook conduc- Wins Awards BELGRA VE --Congratulations to Murray Scott who won the Elston Cardiff Citizenship Award, the top award of the year, at the 4-H Achievement Night in Exeter. He also won the William A. Schmidt Tro- phy for outstanding achieve- ment in the 4-H grain club and the John Anstett wrist watch for holding the highest score in the county 4-H Beef Calf Clubs. His score was 946.
