Housing Hints
Q. Can an architect help me
build a new home if I've al-
ready selected a house plan and
a builder?
A. He certainly can. For ex-
ample, an architect can assist
in drawing up specifications.
Remember, he has a better than
average knowledge of building
materials and how they can be
adapted to a particular plan.
After all, that's his specialty.
He can also assist by checking
the construction to see that the
right materials are going into
the building. With his exper-
ience, an architect can tell at
a glance whether the framing,
insulation and other vital parts
of the house are being built ex-
