Jury Recommends
Warning Lights
A coroner's jury, inquiring
into the death of George Martin,
53 -year-old clerk of Morris
Township on November 6th,
recommended that all slow-
moving vehicles, such as the
tractor Mr. Martin was driving,
be equipped with flashing lights,
The jury decided that such
lights should be turned on when-
ever the vehicle was being
operated on a roadway. Dr. R.
W. Stephens of Brussels presi-
ded over the jury.
Mr. Martin died in an acci-
dent on the fifth concession of
Morris Township when his trac-
tor was struck from the rear by
a car driven by John Owen
Jones of Brussels. Both Mr. and
Mrs. Jones were killed. The
jury attached no blame to
either driver.
Mrs, Kenneth White of Brus-
sels, first person at the scene
of the accident, was the only
witness called, since no per-
son saw the collision of the two
vehicles.
