Wingham and District Hospital by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Hos-
pital, at a cost $900 has been installed and is now in operation.
The machine replaces obsolete equipment which was no longer
able to take care of the steadily increasing program of laboratory
procedures. Seen examining the machine are Willie Vander-
woude, laboratory technician for the hospital and Miss Edna Carr,

STUDIES AT THE OAC
BLUEVALE The Women's In-
stitute niet in the school room of
the United Church on Wednesday,
the president, Mrs. George Hether-
ington, conducting the meeting.
The roll c'alI was "How can I ex-
press my thankfulness?"
The minutes and financial re-
port were read by secretary -treas-
urer, Mrs, W. J, Peacock, Mrs.
Jas. Johnston described the Wo-
men's Institute exhibits at Brussels
Fair and Mrs, Carl Johnston de-
scribed those at the Howlett Fair.
Mrs. Mitchell, as convener of the
Canadian Industries program, gave
.explanations .of Ontario Trade Mis-
sions whose aim is to increase ex-
ports and also described an agri-
cultural building to be erected
about 30 miles west of Barrie for
the purpose of .processing seed
cones to be shipped to re -foresta-
tion areas.
Mrs. Harry Elliott explained the
far-reaching activities of the Wo-
men's Institute with special refer-
ence to what is being done in the
West Indies.
Clifford Brewer, an employee of
l3luevale Creamery, outlined the
studies he took at the Dairy School
orf the OAC. also described the
buildings and some or the activities
in the line of ngrieultul•e there
The College was built in 1874, and
many additions and improvements
have been made since that time --
1295 students were on the campus,
including attendants at the Veterin-
ary (i llege (the oldest in Canada)
and at Macdonald Institute, the
Household Science centre.
The speaker gave a detailed ae-
t'onnt of the making of butter and
answered questions from the mem-
bers of the interested nudienee.

er and conveyed the appreciation
of all,
Mrs. Bert C7arniss spoke on the

Charge." Mrs. Corrigan, hostess
