her brother, Mr. Charles Taylor.
Their mother, Mrs. William Taylor,
who has been a patient in the
Wingham Hospital for several
months, was able to spend the
week -end here also.
Miss Florence Moir of Toronto
spent the week -end with Mr. and
Mrs. James Richardson and on
Sunday they and Mr. John Rich-
ardson and Bobby and Miss Moir
visited with Mr. and Mrs, Howard
Savage of Molesworth,
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Coupland
of Toronto spent the week -end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Robinson and with Wrox-

The morning session was made

es of Institute work, In the af-
ternoon a trio composed of Mrs.
Jack Ferguson, Mrs. Gordon

sang two numbers, accompanied by
Mrs. Lyle Murray.
An interesting panel discission
conducted by \ aughan Douglas of
CKNX, with a panel composed of
Mrs. Stan Bride, Fordwich, Mrs.
William Kato, Gorrie, Ivan Has-
kins, reeve of Howick and Stewart
Douglas, school board chairman.
The subject under discussion was
the new central school in Howick.
A lot of good points were discussed.
The meeting closed with the na-
tional anthem.

LAKELET—The October meet-
ing of the McIntosh U,C.W. was
held on Wednesday afternoon at
the home of Mrs, Leslie Harkness.
Eighteen ladies answered the roll
call, which was "A Thanksgiving
Thought".
Mrs. Jack Ferguson, president,
conducted the business portion of
the meeting. A report of the
Friendship and Flower committee
was given. The program was in
charge of Mrs Walter Renwick,
who read a chapter from "Signals
for the Sixties" and Mrs Alan Dar-
ling conducted a Bible contest.
Lunch was served by the commit-
tee in charge, Mrs. Elmer Haskins
and Miss Francis Inglis.
SHORTHORN LASSIE
Miss Georgina Kieffer of Mount
St. Joseph Academy, London, spent
Thanksgiving week -end with her
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Oscar Kief-
fer. 011 Saturday she presided as
Shorthorn Lassie for Huron Coun-
ty at the Fordwich fair and was
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hogg, leaves to-
day for Malton on her return
home. Mr. Hogg and Mr. Elliott
were guests with the Player family
on several occasions while serving
overseas with the Armed Forces in
World War II.
