Award Contracts for Two Patrol Garages Ontario Public Works Minister Ray Connell awarded two contracts totalling $84,815 to the contracting firm of Daly Construction Ltd., Galt, for the construction of two metal patrol garages, one at Clin. ton and the other at Grand Bend, for the Department of Highways, The contract for constructing a five -bay metal patrol garage at Grand Bend was for $40,760. The amount of the award for (he six - bay metal patrol garage at Cllr. ton was $44,055, Mr, Connell said work on these two projects would start immeii- ately, ST. Rosemarie Hag- gitt, of Auburn, and Jean Naylor assisted her in opening them, Mrs. Turner thanked all for their kind- ness in giving her so many lovely and useful gifts. J. F. Churchill Dies In London Hospital James Frederick Churchill, 80, long-time resident of the Bluevale district, died at Victoria Hospital, London, on Wednesday sof last week. BEEFS ARE HEARD AT INSTITUTE MEETING FORDWICH The monthly meeting of the Women's Institute was held Tuesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs, Howard Harris, Mrs. R. D Levitt had the devotions and a hymn was sung. The motto, "Coming together is a beginning; working together is progress", was given by Mrs. H. Looman. The roll call, "One way a member of a branch may assist in establishing good public rela- tions was well answered, many say- ing that the best way is to talk up Institute instead of talking it down. Plans for the fair booth were discussed and people asked to do- nate various articles. A lively discussion on "What's Your Beef?" was led by Mrs. H. Doig. A letter was read from the Uni. to secretary asking for warm clothing for Korean children and plans were made to have a bale sent.
