killed when struck by a car late
last Wednesday afternoon as Mrs.
Merrick Was on her way to the
Legion bowling tournament, The
dog has been raised from a pup
and was a faithful and friendly
animal. The Merrick children, and
others in the•neighborhood were
heartbroken over the accident, and
especially so since the driver of the
car did not even stop to find out
how seriously. the animal was in-
jured,

Returning Officer W. B. McCool
reports that there has been a slight
revision in the election figures
since they were published last
Thursday night. In the re -check of
the poll-by-poll.count it was found
that the Liberal candidate, Murray
Gaunt, had a slightly smaller total
—the correct figures being 6907;
George McCutcheon, PC, 6203, to
give Gaunt a majority of 704. Elec-
tion night figures are always open
to revision, since they are receiv-
ed by telephone in rapid-fire suc-
cession.
