Mrs, Geo. White Dies in Hospital Although in failing health for some time, death came rather sud- denly to Mrs, George White of Teeswater in the Wingham General Hospital. She was in her 79t. year. Born near Walkerton in 1884, the late Mrs. White was the former Margaret Kraemer, eldest daugh- ter of the late George Kraemer and Barbara Kroetsch, She lived in Walkerton with the exception of a sort time spent in Detroit, until her marriage in 1914 to the late George White, who predeceased her in July of this year. The couple farmed near Holyrood, on the farm now owned by Harvey Hous- ton, until 1940 when' they moved to the 5th concession of Morris Township, thence to concession 10, West Wawanosh, from where they retired about 14 years ago. There she lived until a short time prior to her death wf en• she went to live with her daughter in East Wawanosh. A very patient, kind and loving mother, she was a friend to all who knew her and was always ready to lend a helping hand. The funeral was from the W. G. Church funeral home to Sacred Heart R. C. Church, where the de- ceased had been a devoted and faithful member, She was also a member of the Catholic Women's League. Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev, Fr. Higgins at 10 a.m. with interment in the Tees - water R. C. Cemetery. Pallbearers were five grandsons, Michael, Den- nis and James Hogan, Ken Black, .lbhn White, and a nephew, Lloyd Hehn, Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Le- ona) Black of Belgrave and Mrs. Wilfrid (Mary) Hogan of Don Mills, Ont.; two sons, Wilfred of Wingham and Laverne of Teeswa- ter; and 16 grandchildren. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Cath- erine Lamphier of London, Mrs. George (Emma) Ernewein and amiss Matilda Kroetsch of Walker- ton, and a brother, Louis Kroetsch, also of Walkerton. Donald Henderson Lived in Chicago Donald ]d Dan) Henderson, a na- tive of Lucknow, died at the Wing - ham and District Hospital on Wed- nesday of last week. He was 80 years of age, and had been i11 only a short time. Mr. Henderson was a son of the late Mr, and Mrs. William Hender- son, and received his education at the Lucknow public and high schools. Ho farmed near Lucknow before going to Chicago, where he acted as branch manager for the Hertz car rental firm for 24 years. He retired and took up residence in Wingham in 1951 and lived here until his removal to Lucknow about five weeks ago. He was a mem- ber of the Presbyterian Church, 'the Lucknow Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, an,d Medinah Temple Shrine, Chicago. Mr. Henderson was married to the former Myrtle Sharp of White- chureh, who died in 1944. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Tennant Henderson, Luck - now; John A. Henderson, eston, Man.; Mrs. Margaret Wicks of Port Credit and Mrs. Sadie Nivins of Midland. Service was conducted at the R. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Currie and children, of Clinton, visited on Sun- day with Mr, and Mrs. John L, Cur- rie. Miss Rachel Currie, of Galt, is visiting there this week. Mr. Fred Leaver of Toronto, spent the week -end at the Leaver home on the river, Mr, and Mrs. Wtn. Smith, of Langside, moved last week to their home on' Victoria St., Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pickell and Mr, and Mrs, James E. Currie were in London ,on Sunday and visited with Mr. Gordon Godkin, who is a patient in Victoria Hos- pital. Mr, Godkin was hurt on Wed- nesday when working at a farm job and was taken to London. Mrs. Godkin has been staying in London also. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rock, of Monkton, are moving this week to the farm they purchased from Mr. Robert Purdon. Mr. and Mrs. Pur - don expect to move soon to the home they purchased in Belgrave. Mr. Angus Falconer has been laid up at his home over the week -end with a very sore back. Mr. and Mrs. A. E, Purdon, of Lucknow, visited on Sunday with Mrs. Cecil Falconer, Mrs. Roane was under the doc- tor's care last Thursday when she had a fall and hurt her face. Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Butler visited at the McInnis home on Sunday, after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wm, McInnis, of Walkerton, Mr. McInnis had improved after his recent stroke. Mr. and Mrs. H, D. McDonald and Mr. and Mrs, Carl McClena- ghan were anniversary guests on and with Ma a d Mr•s. Angus McDonald, of St. Helens, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gaunt spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs, Don Dirstein, of Thorncliffe Park, Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Dirstein are spending this week with her parents here. Mr. and Mrs. John Swan, of Bervie, and Mr, and Mrs. Harry Middleton, of Oshawa, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs• Harry Swan, Mrs. John Haggitt, of Brussels, is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson this week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Schwich- tenberg, of Southampton, visited do Sunday with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Albert Coultes, A. Currie & Sons funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev. G.
