We are pleased to report that Miss Marion Longstaff was able to return to her home after spending several weeks in hospital, Wroxeter Institute Guests in Wingham The Wroxeter branch of the Wo- men's Institute was invited by the Wingham branch to attend the September meeting on Thursday. The program conveners were Mrs. J, Henry and Mrs, W, T. Lapp and the motto, "Let us honor the one who taught us our first les- sons in home economics—our mo- thers," was given by Mrs, J. Henry. Mrs. C. R, Wilkinson demon- strated beauty products with Mrs. W. T. Lapp as her model, Mrs. E. Parish and Mrs N. Keating were appointed as delegates to the coun- ty rally in Bluevale on October 1. Membership with the Film Council was renewed and a dona- tion of $5.00 was voted to the high school for the home economics scholarship. Mrs. Taylor of Wroxeter gave a humorous reading. Misses Betty Anne Lapp, Mary Joan Lapp and Mary Haugh sang, accompanied by Miss Gail Henderson. Mrs. Lapp conducted two con- tests, It was decided to hold a euchre party, the date to be an- nounced later, Mrs. W. MacLean thanked the Wingham ladies for the invitation to attend, and read a short poem, Lunch was served by Mrs. J. L. Currie and her com- mittee. HEAR DISCUSSION ON LEADERS' COURSE, GORRIE — Mrs. Wesley Strong, presided for the September meet- ing of the Gorrie United Church Women, held in the church on Wednesday evening and gave the meditation, Mrs, Lyle Watson read the •Scripture. Mrs. Fred Taylor and Mrs, Glad- stone Edgar gave a panel discus- sion dealing with the course for leaders they attended at Alma Col- legt in St. Thomas, Bible study was stressed in classes on pro- gram planning on the study books. Rev. Sung Kook Skin told of his life in his homeland of Korea. There church workers rise at 4 a.m. and attend service before going to work. There are three services on Sunday. They, need missionaries who are ecumenically minded. Rev, Gordon Hunter, who addressed the gathering daily, spoke on "Love, Conversion and Authority." ' The Wroxeter U.e. A reception for Mr. and Mrs. George McCutcheon, Progressive Conservative candidate, and Pre- mier Roberts, will be held on Sept- ember 27 in the Orange Hall. The ladies will serve tea from 3.30 to 5 p.m. Plans were discussed for a tur- key supper to be held in the Gorrie Community Hall in October. A do- nation of lined jeans will be sent to the True Blue and Orange Home at Richmond Hill. Turner = Noble Marriage Saturday DONNYBROOK - -- A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized at the Strathroy United Church on Saturday afternoon by Rev, L G. Pollock of Strathroy, when Dorothy Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Noble of R. R, 2, Auburn, was united in marriage to Barrie Allan Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner of Auburn. The bride was given in marriage by her father and looked lovely in a royal 'blue suit with white ite- cessories and corsage of pink rose buds. Mrs. Gordon Hesk of Strathroy was matron of honor and was at. tared In a dusky blue Wool dress with white accessories and a cor- sage of pink daisies. Kenneth Turner of Strathroy was the hest man for his brother. A reception was held in the La Mantle Hotel, the bride's mother wearing a mixed grey suit with white accessories and a corsage of pink oarnations.
