men met on We;lnesday with 10
member's present, The leader, Mrs.
Leslie Bolt, conducted the business.
It was decided that a ga;oup would
provide sandwiches and money for
Prizes for the Messengers' picnic.
Mr's, Walter Scott presented the
worship service, which was follow-
ed by a reading by Mrs, George
Martin, Mrs, Bolt led a quiz on
Bible characters and Mrs, Earl An-
derson conducted the Bible study.
The subject was "The Church of
Christ— its Message and Miselon",
The members of the group partici.
pated by reading assigned verses
from the New Testament,

RECEIVES GIFT
BELGRAVE- -The Evening Unit
of the United Church Women was
held Wednesday in the basement
of the church. Mrs, Stanley Hopper
was in charge. of the study and
opened with a hymn, followed by
prayer, Scripture was read by Mrs.
Ray McSween and a hymn was
sung. The lesson was on "Pettiness"
and was followed by a dialogue to
illustrate the lesson, with Mrs. Cliff
Logan, Miss Annie Cook and Mrs.
Ross Anderson taking part.
The meeting was turned over to
the leader, Mrs. Ted Fear, who
called on Mrs, Ross Andersen t.n
say a few words and present a
parting member, Mrs, Ralph Mc-
Crea, with a gift. Mrs. McCrea
thanked the members.
Business was opened with a :what
and the Lord's prayer•. Minutes ane
roll call were read by Mrs. Ken
Barbour and Mrs. Alan Dunbar
gave the treasurer's report. There
were two home and 18 hospital
visits to sick and shut-in reported
It was annoelnced that the general
meeting will be August 30 and the
members were reminded that an-
other bale is being packed. Articles
may be left at the home of Mrs,
Lyle Hopper, Cookies and freshie
were requested. for the Messengers'
picnic. The offering was receive,:)
and dedicated.
)Mrs. Harold Vincent led the Bible
study on "The Message to the
Church in Corinthand the Church
in Canada." Lunch was served.
Mrs. Albert Rieman 'will he the
leader for the study next meeting
with Mrs. Jack Taylor as bench and
entertainment convener. Mrs. Nor-
man Cook will be the hostess.
Birthday Party
At Morris Park
BELGRAVE—A birthday party
was held in the Morris Federatiop
Park on Thursday in honor of Miss
Janice Anderson, who was eight
years old.
Guests included Mary Anne
Wheeler, Brenda Johnston, Carol
and Donna Walker, Connie Neth-
ery, Christine Hartlieb, Barbara
Cook, and the guest of honor's two
sisters, Julaine .and Jillda.
Svyimming was enjoyed by the
children, followed by games. Mr,
Anderson and the boys joined the
party for a picnic supper.
It was a pleasure to see the new
park being made use of in this
manner,

morning for the dedication service

in memory of the late Mr, and Mrs,
James Brydges by members of their
family; new offering plates in
memory of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Bradburn, given by members of
their family; new dossal curtain,
new aluminum stove pipes and the
new wine carpet which stretches
from the altar to the main door,

After the service lunch was serv-
ed in the Foresters' Hall by the
members of the Guild, Letters
were read from the people unable
to attend, Glen VanCamp, the
rector's warden, and Alex Nethery,
the pe'ople's warden, thanked the
ladies and .John Nesbitt of Blyth,
people's warden of the church
there, brought greetings from the
Myth congregation,

County spent three days in Michl-
gan last week, They left by bus,
with Miss Isobel Gilchrist and Dorr
Grieve as chaperones,
'r�They toured Gr'atiot County, and
fliers were billeted out to different
homes, Picnics, parties and tours
of farms were included in the en.
tertainnrent, On Friday they went
to East Lansing, Mich., and toured
the Michigan State University.
Those members present from the
Beef Calf Club of Belgrave were
Anne Wightman, Murray Scott and
Ivan Ilowell.

when Mr, and Mrs, Ross Robinson
and Keith moved from the house
owned by Mr. James Michie to. the
newly redecorated house owned by
the Belgrave Co-op. Mr. and Mrs,
Descharme and family of Walker
ton are now occupying the Michie
house,
Mr, and Mrs, Victor Stackhouse
and family of Exeter are back with
us and are living In a house trailer
on the property next to Miss Nora
VanCamp.
Mrs. Mel Bradburn
Is Guild Hostess
BELGRAVE—Tire Ladies' Guild
of Trinity Anglican Church met at
the home of Mrs. Mel Bradburn on
Thursday with a very good atten-
dance, The president, Mrs. Alec
Nethery, opened with prayer, fol-
lowed by the Lord's Prayer in uni-
son. A hymn was sung and Mrs,
Richard Proctor read the Scrip-
tures.
Plans were made for the dedi-
cation and reception for Sunday.
The Sunday School picnic will be
held on August 12 at the new Mor-
ris Federation Park.
Mrs. Cooper Nethery was in
charge of the program and opened ,
with a reading called "If You Ask
Me". The roll call was answered
by a verse from the Bible contain-
ing the word "Joy". A contest was
conducted and Rev, Robert Meally
pronounced the benediction. Lunch
was served.

Mr. Arthur Henderson of Bruce
Mines spent a few days last week
with his sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs, Richard Proctor and
Joyce.
'.I.'he members of the Belgrave
Women's Institute. will visit Huron,
view, Clinton, August 15th at 2.30
p.m, They are in charge of the
birthday party for those patients
who have birthdays in August,
Everyone is invited to the Insti-
tute meeting, Aug. 21 at 8.30 p.m.,
which will be held In the basement
of the United Church. Mrs, Ifich-
olson is the convener of this meet-
ing and Miss Anna McDonald of
CKNX will show her pictures of her
recent trip to Jamaica.
Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse spent a
day with Mr. and Mrs. Maitland
Edgar in Clinton. Mr. Stonehouse
joined them in the evening.

Ray (indite, had a very doe(' call
at his home on Saturday evening.
While using an electric drill and
standing on damp ground, he re-
ceived a very severe Shnl'lt anti
burns to hands and arms a.nd was
rendered unconscious.
He was rushed to the Bruce
County Hospital, Walkerton, where
efforts to revive him were success-
ful and he returned to his home
Sunday afternoon.
