IN MEMORIAM
FRANCIS—In loving memory of a
son and brother, Eldon G. Fran-
cis, who passed away August 7,
1958.
God took him home, it was His will,
But in our hearts we love him still;
His memory is as dear today
As in the hour he passed away.
We often sit and think of him
When we are all alone,
'For memory is the only friend
That grief can call its own.
--Ever remembered and sadly
missed by his mother, father, broth-
ers and sister, 8*

HOLDS SUNDAY PICNIC
AT KINCARDINE HBR,
The Pine River Boat Club docks
were a beehive of activity on Sun-
day morning when over 60 persons
left aboard 12 power boats for a
trip on the lake and picnic at Kin-
cardine Harbor,
In spite of the rather choppy
water the boats arrived in convoy
at the harbor and at noon were
escorted into dock by the club's
own pipe hand, including Len Mac-
Donald, pipe major; Brian Fink,
bagpipes, George Tuft, snare drum
and John D. McKay, base drum.
An official welcome on behalf
of the •Kincardine- Chamber of Com-
merce was extended to the club by
Bob Johnston. Typical Kincardine
hospitality was shown by Heinz
Walpole of Walpole Marina and
Jim Cottrell in providing picnic
tables, ice cold pop and everything
necessary to aiiake the guests wel-
come.
After a, delicious picnic lunch the
members of the club enjoyed swim-
ming, games and a visit to the park
for the children.
The sincere thanks of the boat
club members was extended to the
Town of Kincardine, Walpole Mar-
ina and all who assisted in making
the visit so enjoyable by Club
Commodore Herb Fuller of Wing -
ham.
Due to the weather forecast of
extensive fog (and they were right)
the club observed its number one
rule, "Safety First", and embarked
for home at 3 p.m.
On arrival at Pine River it was
the unanimous decision to make
the Kincardine cruise and picnic
an annual event on the Sunday be-
fore Civic Holiday and in 1963 the
club will endeavour to take the
entire 40 boats berthed at the Pine
River docks.
Liberals Plan
For Nomination
Liberals in the Huron -Bruce rid-
ing have set August 27th as nom-
ination day to secure a candidate
for a possible fall provincial by-
election.
The nominating convention, an-
nottnced by the Huron -Bruce Lib-
eral Association, will be held in
the Wingham town hall.
There have been rumors of a
by-election in September to fill the
seat in the Legislature left vacant
by the death of John W. Hanna
this spring. However, no official
announcement concerning the vote
had been made as yet.
