out that the entire movie was

realized the picture is almost leash

it! I predict she'll be back on the
set before the year is over, illness.

One of the subjects discussed
when "The Vast Wasteland of
Television" was dealt with a few
weeks ago was. "Should news
broadcasters be allowed to an-
nounce commercials?" A number
of examples given, including Earl
Cameron who announces our own
CBC news and is also seen doing
commercials for different products.
This, some of the public argaed,
was detracting frons the serious-
ness and importance of the world
news broadcasts and was creating
a false image of the announcer,
who, they figured, should remain
tense and unsmiling all the time.
What do you think? In my opinion
the average/ Canadian can distin-
guish between a war in Algiers and
a war waged by a certain brand of
toothpaste, without too much dif-
ficulty, However, that is only my
opinion. If you have something to
add, write to me in care of this
newspaper and state your ideas
on the subject. The results of the
poll will he made known later.

about but last week she was given

Due to the kindness of some
neighbors who rescued me from a
fate worse than death when ouur
own TV contracted a severe vaso
of "bad tubeitis", I managed a peek
at the tremendous talents of Frank
Gorshin on Ed Sulivan's show. This
guy is the greatest thing to bit
show biz since Liz Taylor turned
her back on her chipmunk and
switched to horses! His impres-
sions, especially the one of Kirk
Douglas, whom he so greatly re-
sernbles, are priceless. Not only
that, but he is a great dramatic
actor as well (and another plug
-here/and he is simply the most in
the movie, "Where the Boys Are",
in which he plays a near-sighted
musician and boyfriend of Connie
Francis. I've reached the conclu-
sion that there's nothing this boy
can't do. On the same show, Bob
Goulet was overworked, and •1
numbers that did not reveal his
true talent, His last performance
a few weeks ago did much more
for him than did this week's.
Whytock - Wilson
At West Adelaide Presbyterian
Church, London, in a setting of
white snapdragons and white can-
delabra decorated with trailing ivy
and gardinias, a double -ring cere-
mony united in marriage Marjorie
Elizabeth Wilson. and Rae Gordon
Whytock, Rev. L. J. Blakely per-
formed the ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wilfred Wilson of Ker -
wood, and the groom a son of Mrs.
Howard Whytock and the late Mr.
Whytock, Teeswater,
The bride was charmingly gown-
ed in a floor -length dress of pure
silk organdy over taffeta with ap-
plique of guipure lace. The bodice
was fashioned with lily -point
sleeves, scalloped scoop neckline,
and her bouffant skirt swept into
a brush train. A cap of pearlized
orange blossoms held a double il-
lusion veil.
The bride carried a cascade bou-
quet of white cymbidiums, orchids,
stephanotis and variegated foliage.
The maid of honor was Mrs.
Beryl Nixon of London, who wore
a street -length dress of yellow silk
organza over yellow linen and car-
ried a cascade of open yellow roses
and variegated foliage.
The bride's mother wore an or-
ange beige silk dress with beige
silk organza overskirt, beige acces-
sories and a corsage of Tawny Gold
roses.
The groom's mother chose a
French blue embroidereed organza
dress with organza jacket and
white accessories. Her corsage was
blue cornflowers, stephanotis and
white roses.
The groom was attended by his
brother, James Whytock of Tees -
Water and Robbie Reed of London,
nephew of the groom was ring -
bearer. Wendel Alton of London
and Arthur McKague, Teeswater,
were ushers,
For travelling to Florida the
bride wore a beige suit with burnt
orange and beige accessories and a
tailored corsage of Orange Delight
roses.
Music by the Earle Terry Singers
of London, of which the bride is
a member, included the procession-
al, "Praise My Soul", "Th•J Lord's
Prayer", "The Lord's My Shepherd"
and the recessional, "0 Perfect
Love", forming a guard of honor.
Mr. and Mrs. Whytock will reside
in Byron,
TWO INJURED -Two men, Robert Cronin of
Teeswater and Ronald Adams of R.R. 2, Blue -
vale, received injuries in a crash just south of
Wingham last Wednesday evening. The two
cars, the upper one driven by Cronin and the
lower by Adams, were completely wrecked.
