turned out last Wednesday to give
the Scout house its annual house-
cleaning and in a few hours the
place took on a new look. Walls.
woodwork, floors and whitlows
were scr:ibbed and polished. Mrs,
Ross Gordon won the prize for the
most suitably dressed char, and
Mrs. Percy Clark revived the la-
dies with lunch and hot coffee af-
ter the chores were done,

The rains of the past few days
have improved the oLLtiook for
crops in this area, So far this has
been an exceptionally eery spring
and we have heard that asparagus
and other cash crops farther South
have been seriously curtailed.

AC1 Keith Finnigan of the 1a:CAlr
in St. Jean, Que., son of Mr. and
Mrs, John Finnigan, town, was in
a guard of honor on Monday which
was Inspected by the Queen Mo-
ther when she visited Ottawa.
Keith graduated from basat
training two weeks ago and is now
awaiting a posting. He wa:; nice or
100 men chosen from the 5,000 on
the station to form the nonor
guard, They underwent tutees/ye
training for several flays before
the inspection,

trict High School, Keith became in-

Royal Canadian Air Cadets. In
1958 he won a scholarship it; the
Cadets granting him a course hi

of booth sales was Kin Bill Len,
who had ore of the hardest jobs
in the organization of the fair,
However, these two men, along
with outer Kinsmen who pitched
in, produced a fair that was oer-
taiuly one of the best in the his-
tory of the club.

put up �clisplays that were both at -
A BOY, A DOG—AND THEIR PRiZE—It's a typical big day in a
boy's life when he can enter a dog in a show and come home with
a prize. Doug Elliott' is seen wih his German shepherd, "Ruff” at
the Pooch Parade staged in connection with the Trade Fair last
Saturday afternoon. The dog won the prize for the longest tail.
