Ana Bowman.
When his se'ert'tary answered his
call, she found hnn sitting bundle 1
over his Aiesk in his luxurious 10th
fluor office, his usually jovial face
filled with anger. He weevil her
impatiently to her chair, "Take a
wire'," he said, "to my son he's
just telephoned me and I think he's
gone out of ids mind: perhaps
this'll settle hint."
Slowly, anger still blazing in his
eyes, he dictated: "During your
first year of Science it was agreed
you would not go into research ex

people working on grants. They'll
never find the answer's and you
will never make a cent.. This is
final,''
"Sign it Dad," he said, "send it
off right away and then let's get
down to the morning's dictation."
A week later a long letter eamt,
from ,his son, who had just gradu-
ated with his Pl.I) in biology. "I've
accepted the grant to study a p:•o-
blenl I think may bear on the di-
sease of cancer," the letter ran,
"and I am sorry if the thing bo-
thers you, bat it's the way it must
be. I'm not interested in making
that much money, and the answer
has got to be found."
He took the letter to his daugh-
ter and her young husband, a suc-
cessful engineer. He had long been
separated from his wife, and had
few people with whom he could
talk. Often he visited his daughter,
mostly, he admitted to himself, be-
cause of three-year-old Wendy, who
was the apple of his eye, He had

was buzzed imperatively into his

said, "She is in the hospital. She

He was gone trona !nisi office fon

would drop in now and then, dic-

to the woman at his side.
"Now take a letter t a my son,"
he said quietly, "and make yourself

When he was finished, he signed
the letter with a shaking hand. "I

teachers, relatives and friends that
the graduate may not see again for

What the riding of Huron needs is young aggressive representation and
this is exactly what you will get if you vote and elect Erie Fisher, your
Liberal Candidate.
During the five years that Ernie has been Mayor of Goderich he has work-
ed to the limit of time and endurance to further the progress of that town.
This is precisely what he will do if he is fortunate to successfully contest
this riding of Huron.
SOME EXAMPLES OF HIS AGGRESSIVENESS
®Ire the time that Ernie has headed up the Goderich Municipal Government he has made several
trips to Ottawa and set up many inter -departmental meetings in Goderirli with goveruurt'rrt ol'-
fic'ials. This work was all relative to the removal of ship islanul. whiclh is now underway.
In his representations, .Ernie Fisher constantly pointed out that the removal of this shipping•
hazard was vital to the continued prosperity of both. Goderieh. and Hurot County.
With the, island removed. Ernie saw possibilities to -facilitate the. storage of (melt more grain
at the Harbour. This in turn would mean. that trucking could be used more broadly with a -re-
sultant savings of at least 2e per bushel to Huron County farmers.
Without being your :irederal representative Ernie has already done nttu'11 on behalf 0l' 111e
