Mr. and Mrs. George Ashton, Mrs, Winnifred Downey and Mr. Jack Winters attended the funeral in Arthur on 'Thursday of the late Mrs. James Johnston, Mr, and Mrs. Arnold Doig and Jerry and Mr. Ross Doig spent the week -end in St, Catharines at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Jack Doig. Mr's. Ross Doig returned with them after spending ten days in the city. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wildfang and Brian of 'Toronto were week- end visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Roy Simmons. Misses Lenore and Violet Dos- witherick spent the week -end in '.Toronto and attended the wedding on Saturday of a cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Pries spent the week -end in Toronto where Mr. Pries gave his niece in marriage. One hundred and fifty guests at- tended the dinner in the Clarendon Hall. Mr's, William Lloyd is spending two weeks with relatives in Ohio and Indiana. AIr•, Everitt Allan underwent an operation at Shoudice surgery in Toronto last week. Mr. Jack Siefert of Port. Hope spent the week -end with his par- ents, Mr. and Mrs, Lorne Siefert. TO PAINT LIBRARY BLIJEVALE The library hoard met during the week with nine members present. The treasurer, Mrs. Harry Elliott, reported a good balance in the treasury. It was decided to paint the out- side of the library building, put more bookshelves in the library, and do some necessary repairs.
