Cards of thanks were read from
Mrs. Carl Procter and Mrs, John
Anderson, also a letter of thanks
from Westminster Hospital for a
birthday gift sent to a veteran.
The first three choices in coars-
es offered for the local Leaders'
Training School were "143 Pounds
of Meat", "Hints for the Home
Nurse" and "Window Treatment".
The penny collection was received
for Mental Health. Mrs, Stewart
Procter moved a vote of thanks to
Mrs, James Michie for sending out
cards to the sick and shut-ins. Mrs.
Michie agreed to do this again and
also look after the printing of the
programs,

mending at the Wingham Hospital.
Mrs. Procter announced that May
12 was the Achievement Day for
the 4-H girls at the Wingham Dis-
trict High School for the course,

BELGRAVE-Phe monthly meet-
ing of the Morris Township Fed-
eration of Agriculture was held on
Wednesday evening at the home
of Mr, and Mrs, Joseph Black with
18 members present. The minutes
of the last meeting were read by
Richard Procter. The president,
Stanley Hopper, reported on the
county meeting and the meeting
held at Clinton on assessment and
taxation.
Ross Smith introduced Cliff Dun.
bar -of Brussels, who spoke on the
cancer drive for Brussels and dis-
trict. The federation directors
agreed to collect for the fund.
Mrs. William Elston introduced
Mrs. Earl Cudmore, who spoke on
horticulture. She was thanked by
Mrs. Stanley Hopper, who also in-
troduced Mrs. A, Rann of Brussels.
Mrs. Rann told about the Horticul-
tural Society in Brussels, stating
that it would like more new mem-
bers, The fee is $1.00 with pre-
mium as well. The Brussels So-
ciety is holding a flower show and
tea during tulip time in the Brus-
sels library.
Albert Bacon gave a report of the
annual meeting of the Hog Produc-
ers in Toronto. The next regular
meeting will be at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. William .Elston on. May

The choir, under the direction
and leadership of Roy Mundy, sang
two anthems, "Mighty Triumphant"
and "Now Is Christ Risen".

W.M.S. Council Will
Be Held in Toronto
The. 47th annual council meeting$
of the Women's Missionary Society
(W,D.) of the Presbyterian Church ,..,
in Canada wil he held in Knox
Presbyterian Church, Toronto, May
7 to 11.
Knox Church has a long .and
honorable history, dating back to
1820, when it was formed and the
present edifice was built over S0
years ago. Many historical events
have taken place in this church,
one of the most memorable perhaps
being the union of the Wotnen's
Foreign Missionary Society, The
Women's Home Missionary Society
and the Woman's Missionary So-
ciety of Montreal, into one group
to be known by its p1esent name.
A reception and supper for ap-
proximately 100 delegates will be
held on Monday evening when Rev.
Donald. H. Powell, E.D., former
missionary of the Korean Christian
Church in Japan will be the guest
speaker. Tuesday evening there will
he a panel discussion on the World
Council of Churches meetings held
in New Delhi, India, last December
and Synodical delegates will parti-
cipate in the program, presenting
the work of the organizations,• na
tional, overseas, publications and
finance departments.
Several Overseas missionaries
who are on furlough will attend
Council, and. four new ",appointees
to Overseas work will be presented.
The new appointees are Miss•Atha-
lie Read of Brockville; Miss Elsie
Taylor, Reg.N., of Victoria, B.C.';
Miss Doreen Morrison, Reg.N., of
Ancaster and Miss Anne Howson
