Many fairly warm, diy days al- lowed fanners to do some spring plowing and the odd field of grain was sown during the latter end of the week of April 2nd, Coldnights retarded the growth Of wheat. Cold rains of April Thy and 9th retarded progress with seeding, but did green -up the wheat and grasses to some extent, A warm rain is needed to encourage growth — the land is fairly dry.
