MARJORIE KIEFFER, of Wingham, a dip-
loma student at Macdonald Institute,
Guelph, was the winner of the Macdonald
'52 Trophy for the highest number of
points in the home economics section of
the College Royal, held last week at the
Ontario Agricultural and Veterinary Col-
leges. She is seen in the photo receiving
her trophy from Miss Louise Brill of Mac-
donald Institute faculty.

BLUEVALE The annual meet-
ing of the Women's Institute was
held Wednesday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. G. C. Mitchell, Mrs.
George`Hetherington presided. The
roll call was "Something nice about
the one on my right".
"Thank you" letters were read
by the secretary, Mrs. W. J. Pea.
cock, in appreciation of gifts of
Valentine boxes to the sick.

onomics and health, Mrs. Wendell
Stamper; citizenship and educa-
tion, Mrs. Sparling Johnston; his-
torical research, Mrs. Milton Fra-
ser; resolutions, Mrs. Bert Garniss;

ken.
Plans were made for a visit of
members to Huronview at Clinton
on March 21st, to celebrate in hon-
or of the residents whose birthdays
fall in the month of March. Gifts,
refreshments and a program are
planned. Mrs. Harry Elliott, Mrs.
G. C, Mitchell and Mrs, George
Hetherington form the program
committee.
Mrs. Frank Stamper gave a com-
prehensive study of current events.

in Sothern Home
T"ORDWICH Trinity W.A. met
on Wednesday at Mrs, Bruce Soth-
ern's. The opening hymn was fol-
lowed by the members' prayer and
a prayer for missions. The Scrip-
ture was read by Mrs. Peter
Browne.
The roll call, a Lenten verse, was
answered by ten members and a
visitor. The treasurer reported
that $10.00 and two quilts had been
sent to aid the children of Hong
Kong. A box of treats and cards
had been sent out to shut-ins. Two
quilt tops were presented to the
W.A. by Mrs. Garn King and Mrs.
Ellsworth, with quilting to be plan-
ned later.
Thank you notes were read and
notice was given of the 75th an-
niversary of the founding of the
W.A., which will take place at the
Diocesan annual in London on Ap-
ril 29th, 30th and May Ist, An an-
niversary coffee spoon with the
W.A. crest on it is available for
anyone who would like one. Get
in touch with Mrs. Jacques for
particulars.
Mrs, Ferguson was in charge of
the sttudy book, assisted by Mrs.
Ruby Foster. Mrs. N. Armstrong
gave a reading and Mrs, Forster
led in the Litany. Mrs. Strong
closed the meeting with prayer.
A contest on women of the Bible
was conducted by Mrs. Foster.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Sothern
and Mrs, J, Boyd.
