This, too is a common combina-

It is possible to spare this by
hitting on the outside of the hend-

shoot inside the headpin, so the hall
carries the 3 and 5 pins, and the
flying headpin carries the corner

PAISLEY FLYERS TAKE
FIRST PLAY-OFF GAME
Playoff hockey got under way
in the Paisley arena on Tuesday of
last wc'elc with the Wingham Dod-
gersfacing up to the Paisley. Fly-
ers and losing the opening encoun-
ter 14.7.
Thy Paisley squad got away to
a flying, start in the first period,
Davidson scoring within the first
minute. He was assisted by George
,Becker. Mahood of the Dodgers
retaliated a1 the 1.40 mark, assist-
ed by Skinn and ,Jardin. Within
two minutes Paisley came back,
scoring two goals,' the first by
•Kingston, assisted by Davidson and
Miller, and the second scored by
Dudgeon. Wingham scored at the.
r,
7.05 marls, Bill Locicrid„c going onng in
alone. In the next four minutes
1 Paisley went ,on another scoring
spree, this time with Miller, Thomp_
son and Gregg eons('cutively do-
ing the honors. At the 13.10 mark
,Tim Bain sank a spectacular slap
shot from the blueline, bringing
the score up to 7-4 at the end :of
the first stanza,.
After 55 seconds of play in the
second fra.mc, Miller picked up his
third goal of the night. assisted by
Davidson. At 5.55 Lamont tallied
on a pass from Kingston and Mil-
ler. At this point in the game the
Dodgers came to life:, scoring twice
in three minutes. Irwin and Cer-
son notched the goals, assisted by
l and Cerson.
Gord
Barry Y g Pr fo e
With only three minutes left in the
period Becker picked tt corner to
end the frame at 10.6.
• In spite of all-out effort on the
part of the Dodgers, Merlcley just
couldn't stop the Flyers in the
third period as thay slapped in
four counters to Wingharn's one.
Miller, Gregg, Kingston and Dud-
geon got credit for thy Paisley
goals and Cerson got the lone
Wingham marker.
The final score, 14-7, most cer-
tainly looks bad for the Dodgers
going into the playoffs, but the
score definitely did not indicate
the game played. The Dodgers,
hampered at present by several in-
juries, played a very good game
and should he in the chips before
this series is over.

COP TOURNAMENT
SWAMP HANOVER 9-0
The Wingham Squirts won the
Lake Huron Zone Squirt tourna-
ment last Saturday by soundly
thumping Hanover 9-0 in the final
game.
Wingham started slowly in the
first period and only the sound
goai_tending of Bob Sangster pre-
vented a Hanover goal. Malcolm
Galbraith finally put Wingham in-
to the scoring column by flashing
in a picture goal on an end-to-end
rush. Galbraith's goal seemed to
trigger the local boys into action
as Brad Elliott slammed in two
markers, followed by Galbraith's
second goal, just before the 'first
period ended.
In the second frame Captain
Paul Templeman scored on a high
backhand and then took a pass
from. Elliott to push Wingham into
a 6-0 lead at. the end of the see- i
ond,
In the third periad Wingham
continued to roll as Templeman
picked up his third goal for the
hat trick, scoring on a break -away.
Ken Rae got his first goal of the
game when he slammed in a goal -
mouth pass from Paul Guest. Dave
tt
Ohm wound up the scoring for the
boys with a high screen shot with
six seconds remaining in the game.
