as guest speaker.
Mrs, Robert Higgins was In
charge of the program, opening
with a reading by Mrs. Vannan,
Mrs, Higgins Jed in prayer and con-
ducted two contests, which wore
won by Mrs. Cora McGill and Mrs,
Mel Bradburn. Mrs. Higgins read
a poem, "1 Want to Go Back to
the Farm".
The roll call was answered by
quoting one of the miracles. Mrs.
Nathery closed the meeting with
prayer. Grace was sung and hunch
was served by the hostess.

mont, three -weeks -old son of Mr.
and Mrs. James • Lamont passed
away on Feb, 28th in the War
Memorial Children :s Hospital, at
London. .Born on Feb. 7th, he had
been a patient there for three
weeks.
He is survived by his parents,
one sister, 1)onelda, three brothers,
Danny, Dwight and Dale.
Private funeral service was held
Thursday, March .1st, from the S. J.
Walker funeral home in Wingham.
Temporary entombment was at the
Wingham mausoleum, with inter-
ment in the Wingham cemetery.

Attend Convention
Ernest Falconer will be among
the 21 persons leaving for Wiar-
ton this week -enol to attend a con-
vention of Johovah's Witnesses.
Mr, Falconer, a long-time resident
of this area, said that these semi-,
annual circuit assemblies were
very stimulating.
The theme of the convention. will
be, "Assist one another to do God's
will," From this theme will de-
velop talks, demonstrations and
panel discussions for the benefit of
the Witnesses and their friends.
Opportunity will also he provided
for new ones associated with Je-
hovah's Witnesses to symbolize
their dedication to God at the bap-
tism ceremony Saturday afternoon.
The principal speaker will be
T, R. Jones, district supervisor of
.Tehovah's Witnesses and a special
representative of the Watch Tow-
er Society. As a climax to this ga-
thering Mr, Jones will deliver the
public Bible ,discourse, "Uniting
Men in a Split-up World", Sunday
in the Wiarton District High
School, which bas been rented for
the occasion.
BUYS BUSINESS ---Lovell McGuire, who left town
some time ago to reside in Whitby, has taken
over the Canadian Tire Associate Store in Ajax.
Mr. McGuire took a course in management and
stock control before managing the Whitby store.
Last month the Ajax Canadian Tire store, a Targe
and well-equipped establishment, in the modern
Ajax Plaza, changed hands when Torn Clark, the
founder, turned the business over to the new
owner. A number of Mr, Clark's friends and
business associates gathered for a private party
to welcome Mr. McGuire and bid farewell to
Mr. Clark. Mr. Clark and his daughter Helen
