McKercher Died in London Mrs, Alexander McKercher, one of the older residents of Wroxeter, died in Victoria Hospital, London, on saturday. Mrs, McKercher who was 91 years of age, suffered a broken hip several weeks ago, The former Margaret Jane Rit- chie, she was 1)01'11 in Howiclt Township, the daughter of the late James Ritchie and his wife, Mar- garet Henderson. Her husband predeceased her some years ago. She is survived by three sons, Ewart and Tindall McKercher of Howick Township and Alan of the Jamestown dis- trict; one brother, Tindall Ritchie of Wingham and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A son, ,James, who resided at Rose - town, Sitslc., predeceased her. Service Wats held at the .Moir funeral home in Gorric on Monday at 2 p.m. when Rev. T. E. Kennedy of Bluevalc'' Presbyterian Church officiated, and interment was in the Wroxeter Cemetery. The pall- bearers were Morley McMichael, Paul Adams, Harvey Adams, Mac Sanderson, William Gibson and George Hislop, Children Baptized At United Church Baptismal service was held in the United Church on Sunday when the following babies were baptized; Jill Diane Swatridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swatridge; Jane Marie Crawford, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Kenneth Crawford; Wendy Lee McIntyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Arnold McIntyre of Sarnia; Murray Stephen Fear, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R, Fear. The little flower girl for the occasion was Marilyn Irwin, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Elwood Irwin. The installation of the elders, stewards and trustees was held at t1t same service. Rev, T. G. Musser spoke especial- ly to the m.elnbers of the official board on the subject "Fishers of Men", outlining the qualifications of a good layman in the church as portrayed by Stenon Peter, of whose faith the Church was found- ed. The minister stated that the final requitement underlying all others is found in the question of Jesus to Peter, "Lovcst thou me more than these? I+'eecl my sheep --- feed my lambs," The supreme re- quirement for service in the of- fices of the church is love of Christ expressed in service.
