Mrs. Allen had spent her entire
life in the community, being born
in East Wawanosh Township, 91
years ago. She was the forager
Elizabeth McKenzie, daughter of
the late James McKenzie and
Marion Stark. She attended. Lower
Town School and later became a
dressmaker, Her marriage to
George Allen took place at the
ham(' of 11er mother in Lower
Wingham. Mr. Allen, who was -po-
lice chief here for 37 years, pre-
deceased her in 1953.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs,
Wilfred (Irene) Wilian, of Wheat-
ley, and Mrs. D. B. (May) Porter, of
Wingham: two sons, Rev. James R.
Allen, Pointe Claire, Montreal, P.Q.,
' and George C. Allen, Wyandotte,
Mich. A daughter, Mrs. Alvah
(Marion) Agnew died in Detrot in
1947. There are four grandchildren
and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Allen was a member of St,
Paul's Anglican Church and was at
Past president of the Ladies' Guild
of that church,

Passes Suddenly
Friends were saddened last Wed-
nesday to learn of the sudden pass-
ing of Mrs. Edgar Harrison at her
home on Patrick Street at 6.30- p.rn.
Mrs. Harrison. was the former
Edna `Paterson, and born in Blue -
vale 73 years ago, a daughter of
t111- late Walter D. Paterson and
Elizabeth Johnston, She attended
Wingham public and high schools
and was a clerk before her mar-
riage to Mr, Harrison.
She wets active in the community.
She was 0 past worthy matron of
Chapter 89, 0.E,S., Wingharn, and
was recently made a Life Member,
Until two years ago she Was quite
active in curling and lawn bowling.
Mrs. Harrison ison was a .member of St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church. and
belonged to both the Women's Mis-
sionary Society anti the Ladies' Aid.
She is survived by her husband,
a daughter Irlma (Mrs, Elmer Bal-
ltigli), of Belmore, and a son, Ross
1S. Harrison, of Listowel. There are
five grandchildren, anti 0 brother.
