noon. 'Phe attendance was fair in
view of the weather conditions,
A brief devotional period prepar-
ed by Mrs, Howes and Mrs. Wylie
opened the meeting. Excerpts
from a letter written by Mrs. Self,
a missionary in India, whom
members of the congregation had
the Jdeasure of hearing at a thank -
offering service a number of year:

children interested in this course

Mrs. Howard Harris, district
president, paid her official visit.
She spoke on "Perfume, that Mys.
terl0118 Scent". She said there is
perfume on the market for every-
thing now, even your dog cern
smell like a petunia.. Current ev-
ents from 1961 were reviewed.
Mrs, Lorne Seifert rendered two
musical numbers on piano and
mouth organ. Mrs. Fred McCann
introduced the guest, Mrs. Edna
Ohm of Listowel, who demonstrat-
ed articles„ made from nylon, furs,
mats, slippers, mitts and animals.
She was presented with a gift,
Lunch was served by Mrs. .James
Vittie, Mrs. Lorne Siefert, Mrs.
John Winkel and Mrs, Ken Gra-
ham.

Mr. Forrester, who lives alone, was
able to leave the building safely.
Fire Chief Jim Carr said the
blaze which razed the two-storey
dwelling was caused by overheated
stovepipes. The loss was estimated
at $8,000..
The Wingham fire brigade was
summoned but the fire was too 'far

the Kitchener - Waterloo Hospital
early Wednesday morning, Mary
Isobel Lockhart, wife of William
Lockhart of. R.R. 5, Woodstock, in
her 83rd year.
She was the daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. -George Underwood
and was born in Bewick Town_.

George Foster and they !'armed on

ing to Clonic. They later moved
to Elmira. Mr, Foster died in r)e-

In July, 1957, she was married
