Brussels Livestock report Cattle prices ease at Brussels sale Friday The market at Brussels Livestock Inc. met a moderate demand on the good cattle and $1.00 lower on plainer cattle. There were 396 slaughter cattle and 239 hogs on offer. Good to choice steers brought The'Young Trophy’ was presented to Lorraine Franken by Bill Fletcher, the Ontario Jersey club president, for owning with her husband Paul the jersey cow in Perth-Huron with the highest butterfat yield. They won the trophy on Dec. 2 at the annual Perth-Huron Jersey club banquet. Junior champ Ryan Vandenheuval of RR 2, Auburn was awarded the ‘Robin Acres Farm Trophy’ for the first prize calf in the junior special at ‘he Seaforth Fair. Paul Robinson of St. Marys presented the trophy to Ryan at theannual Perth-Huron Jersey club banquet which was held in Kippen on Dec. 2. John Armstrong accepts the Premier Breeder certificate for Huronia Jerseys from the Ontario Jersey club president, Bill Fletcher. Huronia Jerseys of RR 2, Auburn received the award on Dec. 2at theannual Perth-Huron Jersey club banquet where they also received the Westlandyn Jerseys Trophy for the junior champion at the Parish show and the Tom Rathwell award. Pigs under 40 lbs. averaged $106.25 per hundred; 40 - 50 lbs., averaged $97.42; 50 - 60 lbs., averaged $98.41; 60 lbs. and over, averaged $78.87.
